Honda Custom Motorcycle Collaboration for Wheels & Waves Festival Competition

Honda challenged MattB Customs to customise one of their motorcycles and put us head-to-head against other design teams from across Europe for the Wheels & Waves festival competition in Biarritz, France.

The custom Honda 125 build for the Wheels & Waves competition, Biarritz

We teamed up with OG motorcycle customiser Guy "Skid" Willison, who tuned the Honda 125 into a dragster-style racing bike. With the bike built for speed, we wanted the paint job to match the brief — designing it to look like the paint itself could barely keep up, as if it was being stripped away by how fast the bike was moving.

The project

We were entered into the Wheels & Waves competition — the number one competition for custom motorbikes. Each team was made up of a bike customiser and an artist working together, with entries from teams all over the world. Ours was the UK entry. The build ran across June and July 2023, working directly with Honda throughout.
